In 2014, I hiked 820 km unsupported through the Australian Alps.

I spend 51 days in the wild, on a track that on average only 20 people complete each year. For seven-and-a-half weeks, I relied on my planning, resilience and personal resources as I negotiated over 60,000m of altitude, wild weather and scarce water.
I was privileged to explore remote wilderness areas and experience that rare freedom away from constant availability and disruptions. I discovered what I was capable of when I truly put my mind to it.
Despite having a fulltime and demanding corporate role at the time, I was determined and made this trip a reality for myself.
It has been a life-changing experience – with a powerful and positive impact on my career. Experiences from the trip continue to translate into my professional and personal environment.
